The Foodbank team is small and we rely heavily on teams and individuals who generously give their time to help us get food to the people who need it. We have different volunteer opportunities available in each state, if you would like to volunteer select your state below:

Volunteers are our key ingredient 

Each day, our amazing volunteers pack food and grocery orders to distribute to our charity partners. From sorting and labelling items to stocking shelves and packing food orders, we welcome you to fight hunger with Foodbank by volunteering in the Sydney Distribution Centre. 

Key information about volunteering:

• Regular volunteers help us Monday to Friday, 8am to 2pm
• We are located at 50 Owen Street, Glendenning NSW
• All volunteers must be fully vaccinated and follow COVID-19 safety procedures.
• Wear comfortable casual clothes suitable for the warehouse
• Arrive wearing fully enclosed rubber-soled shoes
• The minimum age for volunteers is 15 years

If you are under the age of 15 years or are unable to lift heavy items, we welcome you to support Foodbank by fundraising or hosting a food drive.

Regular volunteering 

We have received and overwhelming level of support since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, we’d like to thank everyone who has expressed interest and joined our waitlist. We are gradually starting new volunteers and could need your help soon. If you are able to offer 2 days volunteering a week, and are happy to join our waitlist, please submit the online registration form on this page. Corporate, group and one-off volunteering 

We are taking additional precautions to protect our team from COVID-19.

We are currently able to welcome smaller corporate volunteering groups into our distribution centre during the week. If your team is ready to return to volunteering, and you’d like more information please contact Luke Chesworth, Volunteer Coordinator via email.

Weekend and casual or one-off volunteering opportunities are currently on hold. We will update this website and post information to our Facebook Page when these opportunities are available again.
