KATE O’HARA APPOINTED AS CEO OF FOODBANK WA

Ms Kate O’Hara has been appointed as the third Chief Executive Officer of Foodbank WA in its 27-year history.

 

Ms O’Hara has a wealth of business and leadership experience. Her background is in property and residential strategic marketing, digital strategy, communications planning, media planning, community creation and place making across a broad range of sectors including asset development and management (residential, retail, commercial, hospitality), residential housing, the resource sector, banking and education.

Bringing decades of branding and PR communications strategy, community development and place making, philanthropy and sponsorship strategy experience.

Kate is also a Non-Executive Director and been on business and not for profit boards covering the arts, education, sports and business groups.

Ms O’Hara will lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and transformation as it continues to work towards ending hunger in Western Australia by 2030.

Peter Mansell, Chair, Foodbank WA said “We are excited for Ms O’Hara to join Foodbank WA. The COVID-19 pandemic including the ending of related Government assistance as well as recent natural disasters has increased the demand for food assistance throughout Western Australia.”

“Ms O’Hara joins at a vital time as we continue to scale to the increase demand while working towards an ambitious goal to end hunger in Western Australia by 2030.”

Ms O’Hara said: “I am excited to be joining an organisation that is making a big difference to so many in WA. I’m looking forward to leading the organisation to ensure that all those facing any levels of food insecurity, needing support, are given that support.”

Ms O’Hara will commence on Monday, 30 August 2021.
